Let’s talk about a record called ‘’ It’s nice Outside ‘’ by Phoniks and Anti-Lilly. For those who stop at the first sentences of the review I can only write: impressive. A record that lulls you to jazz and hip-hop bass sounds from start to finish with a sinuous voice from Anti-Lilly that literally makes you fly through every piece of the album.

The album starts with the piece entitled “It’s nice outside” and we can add that it starts with great sound style by Phoniks. The piece written by Anti-Lilly contains interesting phrases such as “(…) Man, I can’t say where I’m headed but where I came from (…)”. He continues the record with “Sunshine”. Hey, let’s stop for a second anywhere on the subway or in a crowd of people at 9:00 AM to listen to this background created by Phoniks. Oh my God, it sneaks into your ears with a unique ease and lightness. A literally incredible Jazz background that accompanies the voice of the singer Mariel and the sampled singer.

We continue on the same cradle but with more rhythm created by the manufacturer. The background sound of this round has more rhythm and consistency in accompanying the voice. “What would youndo”, a mixture of sounds sampled and put together by the producer in a maniacal way. Each medium and high dance together as if it were one last dance. I just add “(…) And my stress ain’t ever good if I let it sit on my mind (…)”
To arrive at a “Nobody’s Perfect” piece. Here is the time to let go of the words to be written and take the headphones. Therefore I would add that Phoniks has surpassed itself and created a background melody that slows down the record and goes to position itself in the listener’s mind with gentleness. Cool-Jazz, it seems to imagine a quiet place where you can listen to this sound leaving the past behind. The trumpet does nothing but accompany the melancholy that Anti-Lilly possesses in the singing, it does not even disturb him or lacks protagonism, it simply accompanies.
Next we have significant tracks like “Happiness” feat. Scolla, where basically the sound with great style of Phoniks continues and even takes the lead.
The album continues with “I Found Me”, “No Games” feat. Devante Hunter, Jon S and “Real Shit”. We still have pieces with more background rhythm and cleverly put in sampled sounds by the producer that only manage to enrich, “only”.

In the following “Way $” where we find the sinuous voice of feat. Mariel, let me say great because it adds a certain lightness that is intrinsic to the record. That lightness that in some moments we really need. In addition, his is accompanied by a preparatory and constant enrichment of high sounds that makes the piece even more original.
We continue with “Product Of My Environment” feat. Devante Hunter, the latter increases the rap in the piece by giving support during the track to Anti-Lilly. “Grow”, “Brick Buildings” and “Gibberish” feat. Devante Hunter close the record flawlessly while maintaining the originality that makes this record sincere.

Plus what to add if not -Take a pair of headphones and turn up the volume just enough-. Phoniks and Anti-Lilly have created an “Old School” record and have done it really well that improves with each listening.

Can’t wait to write about the next one 🔥
